Our hospital is the flagship and first international project of the Tokushukai Medical Corporation, which owns and operates over 280 medical facilities in Japan.
A patient in critical condition following a severe brain haemorrhage was saved by a team of invasive cardiologists and neurosurgeons from Tokuda Hospital Sofia. The multidisciplinary team applied innovative endovascular and intravascular techniques to directly treat the life-threatening at its source, without using conventional open surgery techniques.
Our patient was a 65-year old woman, who was admitted to our urgent unit on January 24, 2010
with symptoms of a massive cerebral haemorrhage, our team quickly reacted by giving the patient an emergency cranial scan, which clearly showed an arterial aneurysm of the cerebral blood supply.
The multidisciplinary team was lead by department chiefs Dr. Ivo Petrov (invasive cardiology) and Dr. Slavomir Kondoff (nuero-urgery). The team conducted an innovative catheter femoral artery entry, which was continuously monitored by angiography. We are proud of the abilities of our team to conduct this life saving innovation to guide a catheter through the vascular system, from the leg to the brain, which requires highly skilled doctors and excellent collaboration. When the team reached the aneurysm, they treated the aneurysm with titanium spirals, and secured the location with a specialized adhesive.

Prof. Grozdinski and his team were said to start liberation procedures for foreign MS patients in April 2010. Have they started yet? We are so eager to hear any information, any explanation, anything... about it.
