Dr. Magda Yoneva- Department Chief

Dr. Yoneva graduated from the Plovdiv Medical University in 1975, and received her specialization in microbiology in 1988. From 1985 to 1985, she led the microbiology laboratory of the Sofia Hygiene and Epidemiology Institute. From 1995 to 2006, Dr. Yoneva managed the microbiology laboratory of the 2nd Municipal General Hospital in Sofia, as well as worked in the microbiology laboratory of the general hospital “Vita” from 1998 to 2006. She has been a member of our hospital since we opened our hospital.

Dr. Yoneva has many publications in specialized journals concerning hospital hygiene control, urinary infections, reproductive organ infections, and others. In 2005, she participated in a professional experience exchange in the Tokushukai Hospital Network in Japan. She is member of the Bulgarian Association of Microbiology, The Microbiology Club of the Bulgarian Union of Scientists and the Microbiology Society.

Stiliana Gurkova - biologist

In 2003, she obtained a bachelor's degree in molecular biology and received a master’s degree in virology in 2005. She has been a member of our clinical microbiology laboratory since the opening of our hospital.  

 


 

 

Desislava Anachkova- head laboratory technician

 
Mrs. Anachkova graduated in 1987 with a specialized degree in medical laboratory technologies, from the Medical College of the Plovdiv Medical University. In 1995, she graduated from the medical college "Yordanka Filaretova” of the Sofia Medical University.

Currently, she is studying in the Sofia University Faculty of Public Health, for a degree in the management of health care. After her graduation, she began working as medical laboratory technician in the Hygiene and Epidemiology Institute of Kustendil until1995, after which she worked for one year in the Hygiene and Epidemiology Institute of Sofia.

Before she joined our team, she worked for nine years upon the monitoring and control of antibiotic resistance in the National Reference Laboratory, which is part of the National Center of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases.
