Our clinic’s largest advantage is our qualified medical personnel, whom have specialized in Germany, Switzerland, the UK, the USA, and Japan and have received Bulgarian and International certifications across a comprehensive range of contemporary neurology methodologies.

Our clinic, functional units, and laboratories are staffed with associate professor neurology physicians with over 20 years of clinical, teaching, and research experience based in neurology and neurophysiology, highly qualified neurology/neurophysiology specialists, and qualified nurses specialized in both intensive and general neurology care.

Our clinic performs medical training and our team has collectively published over 150 scientific publications in renowned national and international journals including leading European and American neurology scientific medical periodicals, as well as produced several scientific monographs based upon recent developments in contemporary neurology

Dr. Ivan Stoyanov

Dr. Stoyanov graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 1996. He received his neurology specialty in 2006. He began working as a doctor in the emergency medicine center Sofia district, after which he joined the neurology department of the Tzaritza Yoanna University Hospital. Dr. Stoyanov has been a member of our neurology department since our opening. He has participated in numerous national and international scientific forums, and has specialized in Latvia, the Czech Republic, and Finland.

 

                                     

                

Dr. Vanya Toncheva

Dr. Toncheva graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 1993, and received her specialization in neurology in 1993. After graduation she began working as a regional doctor in Botunetz, Sofia. She has 12 years of professional experience as a neurology specialist earned in the Tzaritza Yoanna University Hospital, five years of which she working in the intensive neurology sector. She has been a member of our team since we opened. Her professional interests are focused on vascular and neuromuscular diseases.

 

 

Dr. Anelia Simeonova

Dr. Simeonova graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 1998, and received her specialization in general medicine in 2004 and her neurology specialization in 2005. She has worked in private practice as a general practitioner, and she joined our team in January 2007.  

 

 

 

 

Dr. Iliyana Zografova

Dr. Iliyana Zografova graduated from the Sofia Medical University and received her Neurology speciality in 1991.After graduation she began working as a doctor -Neurologist in Regional Hospital in Slivnitsa. After received her Neurology specialization dr.Zografova has worked in XII DCC/Diagnostic Consultative Center/ in Sofia as a Neurology specialist. She has many years of professional experience as a Neurology specialist. Dr.Zografova increasy her qualification by taking part in Symposiums on a national and international level, by following the most advanced and up-to date methods of treatment in this field. Her professional interests are focused on potential treatments of the many facets of Cognitive Disorders. She speaks fluently English, French, Russian.

 

 

Dr. Natasha Toteva

Dr. Natasha Toteva graduated with highest honors from The Medical Academy in Sofia and she completed her specialization in neurology in 1985. Since then and up until 2007 she worked as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at The University Hospital “Queen Joanna” in Sofia. In her position as an Assistant Professor Dr. Toteva taught neurology to many students and general practitioners who have become outstanding physicians and neurologists and some of whom are now working in Europe and the United States. During her tenure Dr. Toteva  also did extensive research as a part of a large professional team of psychiatrists and psychologists in the area of children with neuropsychological development disorders. As part of her research work Dr. Toteva created a number of original neuropsychological  diagnostic methods and  participated in the design of a diagnostic computer program aimed to pinpoint the diagnosis and treatment of the above mentioned disorders. On top of her research and teaching work Dr. Toteva also worked full time as a neurologist in the Clinic of neurology of The University Hospital “Queen Joanna” where, due to her extensive experience and expertise, she attracted and treated some of the most challenging cases in the country. Simultaneously Dr. Toteva also worked as a consultant for over 10 years for the Private Medical Center (name). In the most recent years Dr. Toteva has specialized in diagnostic testing of cerebrovascular diseases with Doppler sonography. Dr Toteva has participated in numerous neurological conventions and  has published articles in scientific journals related to neuropsychology and to inflammatory, vascular and degenerative diseases of the nervous system. Dr. Toteva has been a part of the Tokuda Hospital team since the beginning of 2010 and she speaks English language.



Gergana Todorova - neuropsychologist

Gergana Todorova has a university degree in Clinical psychology with a specialty in neuropsychology in Amiens, France. In 2006 specialized in Neuroscience in Dublin. In 2009 she specialized in the field of neuropsychological difference of vascular dementia in comparison with Alzheimer dementia. Gergana Todorova received her Neuropsychology master degree in the University of Amiens, France. She worked for a year in the Neurology clinic of Alexandrova hospital. During her professional experience Gergana Todorova exercises spesific neuropsychological tests on patients with slight cognitive disorders, dementia, brain stroke, mental detention, epilepsy and patients, who have had neurosyrgeries. She rehabilitates the cognitive functions of patients with slight to medium dementia, as well as patients' language disorders after they had suffered a stroke.

 

 

 
Dr. Nikolai Mihnev

Dr. Mihnev graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 2005. During 2006-2009 he was a doctorate candidate in the specialized Sveti Naum University Hospital on the theme “Video EEG monitoring for therapeutically resistant epilepsy”. Between 2006 until 2010, Dr. Mihnev specialized in neurology in the Sveti Naum University Hospital, and he received his neurology specialization in 2010. His scientific interests are focused in epilepsy, in sleep and waking disorders.  He has nine scientific publications and is a member of the Bulgarian Neurology Association. 

 


 

 

Dr. Desislav Petkov

Dr. Petkov graduated from Sofia Medical University in 1996. He received his specialization in General Medicine in 2004.  Since 2005 he is a lecturer in General Medicine Department in Sofia Medical Universit. Dr. Petkov received his specialization in Nervous diseases in 2010. He has over fifteen-year professional experience in interlnal medicine and over 7 years in neurology. His research interest is focused mainly in the fielad of neuropsychology, peripheral nervous system diseases, brain vessel diseases - prevention from strokes, dementions and others. Dr. Petkov has written over 50 scientific articles. He is the Executive editor of Medicinski magazin magazine.

Dr. Denitsa Yaneva

Dr. Yaneva graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 2008 with honors. After her graduation she began her residency in the Tokuda Hospital Sofia neurology clinic. In July 2009р she began her neurology specialization and was appointed as an assistant scientific associate third level by the Sofia Medical University. She is fluent in English.

 

 

 

Dr. Mihail Mihov

Dr. Mihov graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 2009. During his studies he gained professional experience as a medical technician in the neurosurgery clinic of the Urgent General Hospital Pirigov and in the neurology department intensive care unit of the National University Cardiology Hospital. After graduation, Dr. Mihov worked in the Emergency Medicine Center Pernik for several months. He was appointed to begin working in our hospital in June 2010, where he began his neurology specialization in September 2010.   

 

 

 


Yuliya Zhelyazkova - Head Nurse

Head nurse Yulia Zhelyazkova has graduated the Medical colledge of Sofia Medical University. In 2001 she received her proessional university degree, and in 2011 - her bachelor degree in Health care Management. Head nurse Zhelyazkova has a certificate for performing health care of high quality. She has over 30 years of professional experience as a nurse in the Neurology clinic of Pshychiatric clinic "St. Naum" and Neuro-intensive department of Neuorlogy clinic in "St. Yoanna" general hospital. Head nurse Zhelyazkova is a part of Neuorlogy clinic of "Tokuda Hospital Sofia" since the beginning of the project. She has passed courses in Anesthesiology and Intensive care, Intensive care of neurological diseases, Sleep disorders, Neurointensive care and intensive care of patients with brain vascular disease.
