Assistant Professor Dr. Lilova- pediatric clinic chief (pediatric nephrologist)
Professor Lilova graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 1974, and she earned her specialty in pediatrics in 1982, and earned an additional specialty in pediatric nephrology. Prof. Lilova has also earned specializations abroad: Germany (Hanover Medical University), USA (Philadelphia Childrens’ Hospital), and England (London- Great Ormondt Street Hospital for Sick Children). In the beginning of her medical career she worked as a rotational medical intern in the town of Zemen of the Pernik Region. Prof. Lilova has served for many years as a medical researcher of the Pediatric Faculty of the Sofia Medical University.
Currently, she is the official coordinator for Bulgaria for nephrology problems associated with childhood for South Eastern Europe program, actively participates in numerous Bulgarian and international scientific organizations, and has over 70 scientific publications related to pediatrics and childhood nephrology. She successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on the theme “Complications of nephrologic syndrome during the childhood years”. Prof. Lilova has led our pediatric clinic since the opening of Tokuda Hospital Sofia.
Dr. Dimitrina Hristova-Naydenova- neurologist
Dr. Hristova graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 1980, and has a specialty in pediatrics as well as neurology. She also specialized in childhood epilepsy in Innsbruck, Austria. Dr. Hristova worked for three years in Kustendil, Bulgaria and for 3 years in the Second General Hospital in Sofia. From 1987 to 2004, she was the chief resident in the University Childrens’ Hospital in Sofia. To date she has participated in 64 national and international scientific forums, as well as over 30 published articles and scientific publications in specialized medical journals. She implements contemporary medical examination techniques including transfontanel echography, EEGs, and she offers the latest medical methods and drug therapies to treat childhood epilepsy.
Dr. Elena Lazarova- gastroenterologist
Dr. Lazarova graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 1984, and has specializations in both pediatrics and gastroenterology. She earned many years of valuable experience as the chief resident of the Pediatric Institute in the pediatric gastroenterology clinic of the University Childrens’ Hospital in Sofia. She has been a member of our hospital team since we opened to serve the public.
Dr. Kalin Lisichki- rheumatologist
Dr. Lisichki graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 1984, and has a specialization in pediatrics as well as a specialty in rheumatology. He also received a specialization in France in 1987 for childhood diseases. He has earned over twenty years of experience working as a pediatric rheumatologist in the Pediatric Institute. Dr. Lisichki has authored and co-authored numerous scientific articles and medical scholarly works on the theme “Pediatric rheumatoid arthritis and systemic connective tissue diseases”. He has been a member of our clinic since the middle of 2007.
Dr. Galina Popova- endocrinologist
Dr. Popova graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 1983, and earned her pediatric specialty from the University Childrens’ Hospital in 1991 and received her specialty in endocrinology in 2001. From 1992 to 2007, she worked in the University Childrens’ Hospital in the endocrinology and diabetes clinic. In 2002, she specialized in pediatric endocrinology and diabetes in the UK. She has participated in numerous national and international projects related to Type-I diabetes, thyroid diseases, and worked on a program to treat childhood obesity. Dr. Popova has authored many scientific publications in Bulgarian and international medical journals, and regularly participates in national and international endocrinology conferences.
Dr. Valya Despotova- endocrinologist
Dr. Despotova graduated from the Plovdiv Medical University in 1983, and received her specialization in childhood diseases from the Sofia Medical University in 1989. She received her second specialty in endocrinology in 2003. Before she joined our hospital team, she worked in the Plovdiv General Hospital and in the pediatric clinic of the university hospital Alexsandrova.
Dr. Veselina Kenderova PhD- pediatrician
Dr. Kenderova graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 1997, and in 2005 she successfully defended her doctoral thesis on the theme of hematology in the Childhood Diseases Faculty of the same university. In the same year, she received her specialization in pediatrics. She has practiced medicine in the university hospital Alexsandrova in the pediatric pulmonology and hematology clinic. She has numerous scientific medical publications, and has participated in many specialized medical forums in Bulgaria and abroad. Dr. Kenderova has vast experience treating children with hemorrhagic diathesis. Her scientific and research interests lie in the areas of juvenile pulmonology and hematology.
Dr. Kristina Petrova- pediatrician
Dr. Petrova graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 1996, and received her specialization in childhood diseases in 2006. She has earned 10 years of experience working in the childhood diseases department of the university hospital Alexsandrova. Dr. Petrova has been a member of our hospital since we began serving the public.
Dr. Petranka Petrova- pediatrician
Dr. Petrova graduated from the Thracian Medical University in Stara Zagora in 2000, and earned her specialty in pediatrics in 2006. She worked in the Pulmonology Clinic of the Intensive Sector of General Hospital for Childhood Diseases. Dr. Petrova has been a member of our team since we opened our hospital.
Dr. Kremena Grozdeva
Dr. Grozdeva graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 1996, and received her specialization in pediatrics in 2004. After her graduation she worked in the Third Medical Center in Sofia, after which she began working in the General Hospital for Childhood Diseases. She has been a member of our pediatric team since the opening of our hospital. Dr. Grozedva participated in the professional experience exchange program in the Tokushukai Hospital Network in Japan.
Lidia Marinkova- Head Nurse
Head nurse Marinkova graduated from the Yordanka Filaretova Medical College of the Sofia Medical University in 1979. She gained many years of professional experience working in the pediatric department of the university hospital Tzaritza Yoanna in the neurology sector. Her practical experience as a head nurse began in 1985, and continues to the present. She has been a member of our hospital team since our first day of operations.
