Attention! Our department has a contract to serve patients from the NHIF for all the hematology treatment pathways. We also accept patients from international insurance companies and individual patients.

Our hematology department began serving the public on October 1, 2008, the inpatient ward is located on the seventh floor in wing C of our hospital. The ward has 45 hospital beds located in quad rooms, single and private rooms with private bathrooms, cable TV, and central AC, wireless internet and all the comforts we offer at Tokuda Hospital Sofia. 

Our department consists of three functional sectors:

  • Hematology
  • Chemotherapy 
  • Radio-therapy

Our department has a contract to serve patients from the NHIF for all the hematology treatment pathways. We also accept patients from international insurance companies and individual patients. The services we offer cover treatments for anemia, leukemia, lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS or "preleukemia"), Polycythemia Vera (Erythremia), and related oncology conditions.

For our patients convenience we offer clinical exams and hospitalization consultations in parallel to admit patients for treatment to reduce treatment waiting times.


Our department follows the contemporary protocols and diagnostics procedures in onco-hematology disease management to deliver our patients the following:

  • Chemotherapy in accord with EU standards
  • Targeted therapy utilizing monoclonal antibodies
  • Precision and variable dose radiotherapy
  • Therapeutic plasma exchange
  • Therapeutic cytopheresis

To deliver the latest innovations and medical breakthroughs to our valued patients, we are rapidly developing a stem cell transplant program.

Our medical team consists of a group of doctors, nurses, orderlies, and allied health professionals dedicated to providing patient focused care. The team has vast practical experience gained from working in leading national hospitals and across Europe.  

Our personnel have extensive experience treating critical patients, delivering palliative care for oncology patients and blood disorders, administering specialized feeding programs, and effectively managing patient pain.  

Our department offers specialized treatments for individual patients with or without insurance regardless of national origin, and we can arrange personal assistants and specialized service according to our patients’ preferences. We also design specialized nutrition programs based on the patient’s unique profile and preferences to support treatment and healing process.
