What to expect before your procedure?

Before your procedure we ask that you send our medical team your desired procedure and a current medical exam report, and a listing of all the medications you are currently taking. With this information, our team can provide you with a medical service plan, medical cost quote, and propose service dates.

When you arrive for your procedure,  during your pre-procedural consultation your physician will review your medical documentation, order any needed clinical tests, perform X-rays, MRIs, or ultrasound examination as needed to assess your current your health state to finalize medical service plan.

Before your surgery, your anesthesiologist will consult with you to determine the best type of anesthesia general, regional, or local with sedation based on your profile and your desired procedure.

How long does the surgery last?

The typical plastic surgery procedure lasts approximately from one and half to three hours depending upon your procedure and the complexity of your specific case. Our operation theatres are located on the second floor of our hospital and our in-patient hospital ward is located on the eight floor.

How long is the consultations, surgical procedure, and recovery process, and when could I be able to travel back home?

Our general plan for plastic surgery procedures is as follows*:

Day 1- Diagnostics consultations, examinations, clinical testing, x-rays, and hospital admission.
Day 2- Surgical procedure
Day 3- Sitting upright in bed, standing, and walking
Day 4- Hospital discharge
After discharge you will be treated on an outpatient basis for check-ups, bandage changes, and stitches removal.

We recommend resting for at least 7-10 days after the procedure before traveling back home.

*The above plan can vary depending on the type of procedure and the progress of your recovery, we will create a specific individualized plan for you based on your desired procedure and medical profile.

Recovery milestones and back to work estimation:

In general after a plastic surgery procedure, within two to three weeks post-procedurally people can expect to have normal stamina and movement as well as improved appearance on their operated area.

The recovery process and back to work estimation depends on the scope and complexity of the procedure. However, according to our experience people are able to return to work 3 to four weeks post operatively provided they don’t have physically demanding professions. For those with physically demanding professions, they should consult with their physician to be sure that they have fully recovered and return to work.

Follow up care:

We recommend visiting with a plastic surgeon for check up exams one month, three months, and six months after your procedure. After which based on your recovery progress your plastic surgeon can recommend your longer term check-up schedule. Our team is dedicated to maintain contact with you to advise and manage your follow-up care with your doctor in your home country.

Possible post surgical pain and complications:

After the procedure localized swelling and pain is normal, which will reduce over the course of several days. During this period your doctor will prescribe you medications to manage this normal post-operative pain.

The rate of complications from aesthetic surgeries is extremely low and serious complications occur in less than 0.5% of cases. Major complications such as heart ischemias or strokes associated to plastic surgical procedures occur at an even lower rate.

Blood clots in the lower leg and pelvic veins are the most common complications from tummy tuck procedures. To prevent and manage this risk your surgeon shall take numerous precautions such as prescribing special compression stockings, specialized exercises, and anti-coagulation medications based on your specific case.

After your procedure our medical team with monitor your recovery, check for any complications, and provide treatment if any signs of complications arise. Additionally, if your notice any symptoms or complications after your procedure please contact your surgeon immediately to assess your case to take the appropriate measures.
