Magda Yoneva, MD, Clinical Microbiology Chief Dr. Yoneva graduated from the Plovdiv Medical University in 1975, and received her specialization in microbiology in 1988. From 1985 to 1985, she led the microbiology laboratory of the Sofia Hygiene and Epidemiology Institute. From 1995 to 2006, Dr. Yoneva managed the microbiology laboratory of the 2nd Municipal General Hospital in Sofia, as well as worked in the microbiology laboratory of the general hospital “Vita” from 1998 to 2006. She has been a member of our hospital since we opened our hospital.

Dr. Yoneva has many publications in specialized journals concerning hospital hygiene control, urinary infections, reproductive organ infections, and others. In 2005, she participated in a professional experience exchange in the Tokushukai Hospital Network in Japan. She is member of the Bulgarian Association of Microbiology, The Microbiology Club of the Bulgarian Union of Scientists and the Microbiology Society, as well as the European Association of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.

Asya Bachvarova, MD, Microbiology Physician Dr. Buchvarova graduated in medicine from the Sofia Medical University in 1996. She received a specialization in ‘Microbiology’ in 2001. From 1998 to 2007, she worked as a medical intern and a research associate in the National Reference Laboratory ‘Control and Monitoring of Antimicrobial Resistance’ in NCZB. From 2007 to 2011, she worked as a medical intern at the laboratory of Clinical Microbiology and Virusology in the University Hospital Lozenetz. During the same period she leads the Microbiology Laboratory of Vita Multidisciplinary Hospital. She has publications in the sphere of antibiotic resistance. She is a member of the Bulgarian Association of Microbiologists and the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
Krasimir Stamenov, MD, Microbiology Resident Physician
Asya Shopska, Biologist-microbiologist Dr. Shopska graduated in biotechnology at Saint Petersburg., Russia in 1993. She received a specialisation in ‘Microbiology’ in 1999 from the Sofia Medical University. From 1994 and 2009, she worked as a microbiologist in the Department of Microbiological diagnostics and medical hygiene in the University Multidisciplinary Hospital ‘Saint Anna’ in Sofia. Since March 2009, she has been part of the ‘Clinical Microbiology’ Department in Tokuda Hospital Sofia. She is a member of the Bulgarian Association of Microbiologists and the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious diseases. Dr Shopska is participating on a regular basis in national Clinical Microbiology and Infections conferences, congresses, attends courses for improving her postgraduate qualifications etc.
Head Laboratory Technician Evgeniya Krumova Evgeniya Krumova graduated from Medical College of Sofia in 1984 and received her specialization in ‘Medical Technician’ in 2001 followed by a specialization in ‘Health Care Management’ in the Faculty of Public Health of the Medical University Sofia. Initially she worked as a medical technician in the laboratory for reproduction and biosynthesis of the National Centre of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases at the Multidisciplinary Hospital ‘Queen Giovanna as a chief medical technician of the Virology Laboratory until 2005. Prior to her employment in Tokuda Hospital Sofia, she worked in the University Hospital ‘Lozenetz’ as a medical technician in the Microbiology and Virology Laboratory and in the Military Medical Academy of Sofia as a senior medical technician in the Microbiology scientific research lab.congresses, attends courses for improving her postgraduate qualifications etc.
