Two prostate cancer patients have undergone the most precise urology surgery at Acibadem City Clinic Tokuda Hospital

16 october 2017

Prof. Kural, world-known urologist, carried out the surgeries using the Da Vinci robot

Two prostate cancer patients have undergone the most precise urology surgery using the Da Vinci robot. Additional support to Dr. Davidov and his team was provided by Prof. Ali Kural. His robotized surgery department program at Acibadem University of Istanbul was certified last year.

Both surgeries went smoothly with no complications, and patients do recover much faster after having their prostate gland removed in comparison to open surgeries. Similar interventions in cases of prostate, kidney or bladder cancer using the Da Vinci robot are common for Dr. Davidov’s team. Among the other benefits of having a robot-assisted surgery are: higher method precision, quality of work, safety, much faster recovery and minimal post-surgery complications or traumas.

Prof. Kural is a pioneer in robot-assisted urology surgeries in Turkey. He had his first Da Vinci surgeries back in 2005, and since then he has performed 1,000+ robotized interventions in prostate cancer patients. He was the 1st to introduce laparoscopic surgery in kidney and prostate cancer in Turkey. He is also a member of the European Robotized Surgery, the European Urology Association, the US Urology Association, and the Turkish Urology Association, member of the editorial team of the Robot Surgery Journal, and hosts trainings in robot surgeries as well as participates in numerous scientific forums all year round.
