Our ophthalmology department is the only location in the country which has the latest generation of cataract surgery equipment, a Signature phaco machine from Advanced Medical Optics (AMO), which a world leader in cataract and refractive surgery equipment.

This advanced technology reduces our patient’s risk of developing post-operative complications to a minimum while accelerating recovery of their visual acuity. The apparatus is suitable for cataract operations, including cataracts with dense nuclei, and has been equipped with White Star technology. The White Star technology prevents temperatures from exceeding 37 degrees Celsius, which allows us to perform procedures which are absolutely harmless to the cornea and reduces post-operative complications to a minimum.Our department has the full range of the latest generation of cataract surgical equipment from 2008, including a water laser.


Green Laser

The laser is used to treat the retina for cases of diabetic retinopathy, peripheral retinal degeneration, a condition which could lead to retinal detachment, and to treat various forms of glaucoma.


Nd-Yag Laser

This apparatus is used to treat the intermediate layer of the eye, various forms of glaucoma and other diseases mainly affecting the anterior ocular segment.


Fundus Camera

The camera is a diagnostic device for the visualization and documentation of ocular diseases in the internal layer of the eye, for example: diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration, diseases of the retinal vasculature (embolism and thrombosis), congenital conditions, inflammatory diseases of the eye’s internal layer, optic nerve diseases, glaucoma and tumors.

The camera is used with or without the injection of contrasting materials, and has the capabilities to be used with dilated or undilated pupils.


Computer Perimeter

The apparatus is used to diagnose and track changes in the visual field due to glaucoma, optic nerve diseases and other neurological diseases.


Operating Microscope

Our operating microscope is used to perform eye microsurgery to treat diseases of the front and rear eye segment including cataract, glaucoma, retinal diseases, and traumatic injuries. The apparatus is the most recent Ziess model and is equipped with xenon lighting and a BIOM system.
