Tokuda Hospital Sofia

In-patient Treatment

Our in-patient ward has 25 hospital beds located on the seventh floor, and 8 of which are single rooms and 2 are private apartment styled hospital rooms. We have dedicated one room to provide specialized intensive monitoring and specialized treatments and care.

Our department has two state of the art operation theatres outfitted with highly specialized equipment for vascular procedures including the capability to provide intraoperative intercerebral blood circulation monitoring via transcranial Doppler and evoked potentials during complex interventions.

Our vascular surgery team provides comprehensive treatments based on their vast professional experience and high technical training for the following vascular issues:

  • Peripheral narrowing and obstructions of circulatory blood supply
  • Aneurysms and distension of the aorta and peripheral vessels
  • Treatment and prevention programs for cerebrovascular diseases
  • Emergency vascular diseases: embolism, thrombosis, trauma, lesions, ruptures and others
  • Blood supply disruption to the kidneys and other abdominal organs
  • Varicose veins and venous thrombosis
  • Vascular-related tumors and malformations including hemangiomas, congenital fistula, anatomically and  mechanically induced pressure on vascular structures
  • Construction of permanent hemodialysis access for dialysis patients

To treat the diseases listed above, we implement standard surgical techniques and widely implement minimally invasive endovascular surgical methods includingdilation, stenting, embolization in order to minimize patient trauma, reduce recovery time, and to shorten our patient’s hospital stay.

To treat varicose veins, we routinely use endovascular laser-ablation which is a leading minimally invasive method and poses a preferable alternative to the classic vein stripping treatment techniques.

We also provide comprehensive conservative drug therapies to treat vascular diseases.

Our clinic is participating in the development of Tokuda’s kidney transplant program.
